CRICKIT – in Love with Shoes & Bags
CRICKIT is a very special shoe label from Hamburg with a big heart for Chelsea boots. The ankle boots have an elasticated side for easy entry without laces. Invented more than 200 years ago for Queen Victoria, they are now the beacon of our range. We are designer Julia and range manager Janine, as well as the husbands, marketing and sales manager Michael Mouget and product and finance manager Claudio Lanzi. Shoes, especially Chelsea boots and bags, are our great passion, in all variations we can think of.
London, Italy and Hamburg
Julia has London in her blood: she worked for the royal and celebrity shoemaker, John Lobb. British lifestyle and inspiration straight from the streets of London. Together, the four complement each other perfectly: Claudio brings his product know-how and passion for Italian shoes, Janine her passion and feeling for bags and accessories, and Michael his instinct for trends and customer needs. This is how products are created with a lot of heart and the highest standards.
CRICKIT-Lifestyle
CRICKIT is chic and casual at the same time. We love the beautiful things in life, even in everyday life, the time spent together and precious moments with our loved ones. We live by these values, they give us joy and happiness every day.
OUR MISSION
We are convinced that the beauty of a product today is no longer defined by its design alone. We go a step further and pay more attention to the shoe and the foot that wears it.
In order to achieve a contemporary, modern sense of beauty, issues such as design, foot health and sustainability must be intertwined and considered together in the future. That is why we at CRICKIT work every day to put our convictions into action.

THE MATERIAL MATTERS
We choose an all-round good and organic material for you! That's why our shoes are mainly made of leather inside and out.
The leather material is soft and flexibly adapts to the warmth of your foot. The shoe becomes a part of you, which is also particularly beneficial if you have foot problems such as hallux valgus. Leather is naturally breathable: it wicks moisture away from the foot to the outside, thus ensuring a good foot climate in the shoe.
We attach great importance to quality. We want to pass this quality on to you. That's why we mainly use high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather from Italian tanneries. We process many different types of leather to offer you variety in design. From smooth leather to nubuck leather to suede, so that there is something for you.
For us, it goes without saying that we work with tanneries that are certified to the highest quality standards by the Leather Working Group (LWG). Because we want to contribute to your foot health with your CRICKITS and because we treat the environment responsibly.
In order to tan with the lowest possible environmental impact, probiotics and tannin from tree bark, nuts and fruits are used. The leather is tanned organically, using water-saving, vegetable and chrome-free methods. The shoes are always finished without solvents to protect your health and that of the workers.
Tip 1
Shoe care begins when you buy it. Not only your feet suffer from a bad fit, but also your new CRICKITs. Shoes that are too tight or too wide can put excessive strain on the leather through stretching and wrinkling.
Tip 2
The sole is also chosen according to the requirements of the shoe. Leather soles are breathable and do not rub, but they are slippery and never completely waterproof. Rubber soles are waterproof and, depending on the profile, non-slip, but can leave abrasion marks. We have chosen a combination of leather and rubber soles for some models - so you get the best of both worlds.
Tip 3
Give your shoes time to get to know your feet. Feet and shoes need to get used to each other.
If your shoes do not fit and you would like an exchange or refund, here are some tips for trying them on at home:
Tip 4
Even if you have fallen madly in love with your CRICKITs, please, if possible, never wear the same shoes on two consecutive days! Ideally, the shoes should rest for twice as long as they were worn to allow them to air out completely. Foot sweat is very aggressive and can "detan" the leather, causing cracks and breaks.
Tip 5
Always store your shoes in a dry, airy place.
Tip 6
If the shoes are really wet or sweaty, you need to let them air out properly. You can speed up the drying process by stuffing the shoes with newspaper. You should never let shoes dry too close to a heater.
Tip 7
The upper leather of the shoes should be cared for once a month with a good shoe polish. This not only gives it a new shine, but also makes it supple and durable. A good polish can be refreshed from time to time, for example with a horsehair brush or a cleaning cloth. If the leather is very dry, stains can form when the paste is applied. To avoid this, it is recommended that you first moisten the leather slightly, then apply the paste sparingly and spread it immediately before it is absorbed. Too much shoe polish is not beneficial because the leather then becomes crusty and can no longer breathe.
Tip 8
Please do not use self-shine care products. These usually contain aggressive solvents that attack the leather. They also sometimes coat the leather like a varnish that cannot be removed.
Tip 9
Dirty shoes or shoes caked with shoe polish should be cleaned with a brush and, if necessary, with water and saddle soap. Dirt that is not removed can permanently damage the leather.
Tip 10
Sensitivity to mechanical damage from the outside is not a material defect. You can usually cover up small damage with shoe polish. In any case, you shouldn't worry about signs of wear on shoes that have been worn for a long time, as long as they are always cleaned properly. Otherwise, where would the much-vaunted patina of old leather shoes come from?
Tip 11
Soles and heels are wearing parts that need to be replaced from time to time depending on use.
