Every Freaky Nation leather jacket is a long-lasting product based on nature. Only leather from animals bred for meat production is used. The leather is a by-product of the food industry.

Freaky Nation also places great value on the use of vegetable-tanned leather. The proportion of vegetable-tanned leather in our leather clothing collection is already 85%. This means that no chrome is used in the tanning process. This makes this tanning process much more environmentally friendly. The tanning agents used in this process are plant-based (wood, bark and leaves) and are extracted from them.

We have been using Leather Working Group (LWG) certified leather for several seasons, thereby directly reducing our ecological carbon footprint, reducing water and energy consumption and also guaranteeing fairer working conditions in the certified tanneries. To implement these goals, the LWG has developed an audit process for sustainable and responsible leather production. A tannery is assessed, classified according to quality levels and, if successful, certified.

Leather based on natural raw materials is a by-product of the food industry and therefore does not waste resources. This unique material is one of the oldest materials in human history and is ideal for clothing. The passion for the natural product leather and the creations that are made from it - that is what Freaky Nation stands for!

Freaky Nation leather jackets are therefore sustainable in themselves, as a leather jacket is long-lasting. The patina that can develop on the leather surface of a jacket tells an individual story and often becomes the owner's favorite piece.
