As a family-run company, we at Högl have always thought across generations and strived for resource-saving production. Quite simply because sustainability also stands for quality to a large extent. The more durable and comfortable a shoe is, the more sustainable it is. That is why, despite all the technology, we still rely on handcraft in production today.

We produce in Europe, carry out strict quality controls and only use carefully selected premium materials. We only work with genuine leather made from animal hides that are a by-product of meat production.

The majority of this collection is made from lamb nappa leather, which is 100 percent certified with the gold rating of the LWG (Leather Working Group) – an initiative that is committed to optimizing environmental management in the leather industry and stands for pollutant-free processing with the lowest possible energy and water consumption.

Whether it is our LWG-certified leather, innovative materials made from renewable fibers, laces made from Tencel or our EVA-WALKeco soles, which consist of up to 30 percent recycled materials - we live our ecological responsibility. And we have understood one thing: that the pursuit of sustainability is a never-ending process that always requires new, even more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.
